Golf cart tour

What’s in for the golf cart tour is that:

● You enjoy the city as if you were walking, but you’ll not walk.
● We can access areas cars aren’t allowed to enter.
● It’s easier to get in and out from a golf cart than a regular car.
● We can pull up closer to the sites than cars can.
● If you can walk short distances, you don’t need to bring a wheelchair with you.
● If you need to bring a wheelchair with you, there space for storing it in the back of the cart.

Vatican tour

The convenience with our Vatican tour for senior and disabled persons is that:
● If you don’t have your own wheelchair because you don’t normally need one, we can provide it.
● We’ve done tours of this kind for many years, so we know what’s best to do. If you have mobility problem and you want to tour the Vatican, you have to know that:
● Entrance fees
People with permanent disabilities and one person who accompanies them, do not have to pay the admission fee to enter the Vatican Museums. However, to be granted free admission, you’re required to present a statement from a doctor or hospital certifying the disability.

Wheelchair

Vatican free wheelchair
● Vatican free wheelchairs can be reserved. But you can only use them in the Vatican Museums and you have to return them where you collect them. This means that you cannot take them to St. Peter’s Basilica.
● If you want to use a wheelchair for the whole tour, and you don’t want to waste a lot of time returning the Vatican free wheelchair, you’ll have to rent one from us or any other supplier of choice.

Wheelchair rental

You can rent a wheelchair from us, we charge 30 Euros per day, but you’ll have to come and collect it from one of our offices and then return it where you collected it.
However, if you book a tour with round trip transfers included or a combined golf cart/Vatican tour we’ll deliver it ad recollect it free of charge.

Mobility scooter at the Vatican (or if you cannot walk down steps)

If you cannot walk at all, or if you can walk short distances, but the 120 steps one must descend to reach St. Peter’s Basilica from the Sistine Chapel are insurmountable obstacle for you, then the tour of the Vatican will have to be split in two parts and St. Peter’s Basilica will have to be visited separately from the Museums and the Sistine Chapel.

The tour of the Vatican will have to be split in two parts when one of these cases apply:

● If you can walk down the steps, but you use an electric mobility scooter that’s too heavy to be carried down the steps.

● If you can’t walk down the steps to St. Peter’s Basilica.

Please note that if you are disabled and you can’t walk down steps, but there are people in your party who can, your guide will have to split the group in two and let those who can walk down the steps reach St. Peter’s Basilica on their own, while the guide goes back to the entrance with the disabled person exits from the Vatican Museums, and walks around the outside of the Vatican City walls to reach St. Peter’s Basilica and enter it through a dedicated entrance. This happens because only the disabled person and a caretaker are allowed to skip the line for the metal detector at St. Peter’s Basilica. However, this is a long walk, one kilometer (half a mile), so it would be better to use transportation to cover the distance. Taxi or Uber would do, but we can provide transportation upon request.
