Private Accessible Tours

Accessible guided tours in Rome

We are immensely proud to be able to provide this service to those who would otherwise have difficulty visiting Rome.
What are the advantages of touring Rome in a golf cart for those with mobility problems?
The golf cart makes Rome accessible to everyone, as we can drive them remarkably close to the places you wish to visit.
Golf carts can pass through areas of the old city where cars cannot drive and would be difficult to explore on foot,
especially for those with mobility problems.
Anyone can enjoy visiting Rome thoroughly, easily, and comfortably, whether they’re alone or with family and friends.
The golf cart drives faster than a person walks, so you maximize your visiting time by covering a lot of ground.
The guide’s fascinating narration will help you familiarize yourself with the history of Rome and really get to know the city.

Sightseeing in Rome with a mobility problem? Resolved!
Tour in a golf cart, with a private guide!

If walking is a problem but you want to see Rome, this is the tour
for you! Touring by golf cart is the very best way to tour Rome for a disabled person, who has a wheelchair, stroller or even just a senior citizen! We have special golf carts that accommodate three people and store a wheelchair! Everyone sits facing forward, no-one feels excluded. The golf cart makes the tour of Rome very special and easy for people with walking problems. These little electric cars are allowed to drive practically anywhere, especially if a disabled person is aboard.  The golf carts are very easy to get in and out of even for people with limited mobility, they have no doors.

Please note that our largest golf cart takes 7 passengers but if there is a wheelchair this will reduce the space to 5 passengers (plus the wheelchair). Groups of 6 and over will need 2 or more golf carts.

Tours start at 9.30am and 2.30pm
We have a variety of tour available that you can view here.

My Best Tour’s fleet of golf carts is the largest in Rome.
We use the most appropriate golf carts to accommodate groups of different sizes. Large groups, with more than seven participants, are accommodated in multiple carts and tour in a motorcade. The carts are provided with special seats when transporting children. The carts have space to store strollers, wheelchairs, walkers, and lightweight electric scooters. All carts are equipped with plastic covers to protect the passengers in case of bad weather.
Winter kit: when it gets cold, the guests are given poncho raincoats and blankets

The tour of the Vatican for seniors and disabled

Special for those with mobility issues

5 hours
Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter Basilica Private Walking Tour

Crucial: Your disability must be proven by a statement from a hospital or doctor. Duration about 5 hours including transfers.
Private guided tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. The tour is led by a private guide, and guests are provided with skip-the-line tickets. This tour includes transfers by private car from your place of stay to the Vatican Museums, from the Vatican Museums to St. Peter’s and then back to your place of stay.

What makes visiting the Vatican difficult for people with walking aids is that they are not allowed to go down the steps that connect the Sistine Chapel to St. Peter’s Square, even if they physically could.

  • The Vatican tour for people with mobility issues lasts 5 hours because we include all private car transfers for our guests throughout the tour:
    • from their place of stay to the Vatican Museums
    • from the Vatican Museums to St. Peter’s
    • from St. Peter’s back to their place.

The transfer from the Vatican Museums to St. Peter’s is crucial because people with walking aids are not allowed to go down the steps that connect the Sistine Chapel to St. Peter’s Square, even if they physically could.

Not being able to use this shortcut, to reach St. Peter’s, they should walk back to the entrance of the Vatican Museums and, from there, reach St. Peter’s from the outside.

Not counting the internal part of the Vatican Museums, this would be an extra mile to walk.

Transfer by private car, private guide speaking your language and skip the line tickets.
  • We meet you at your place and drive you to our office in a private car or minivan, depending on your group’s size. Our office is very close to the Vatican Museums’ entrance: Via Santamaura, 9, 00192 Roma Phone +390694329438
  • Once at our office, meet your guide and start your private tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.
  • After visiting the Sistine Chapel, you walk all the way back to the entrance the Vatican Museums and, once you exit the venue, meet with your driver again and transfer to St. Peters’ Square.
  • Once at St. Peters’ Square you’ll have to go through security check again, but without having to stand in line, because those with mobility issues have a privileged access.
  • After visiting St. Peter’s, you’ll once again meet your driver and drive back to your place.
  • Your guide will be assisting you throughout the whole tour and, beside illustrating the artworks, will also help wit the logistics, like entry formalities, contacting the driver and whatever else will be necessary.
Crucial: Your disability must be proven by a statement from a hospital or doctor.

Please be aware that people with permanent disabilities are granted free admission for themselves and a caretaker, but they might be requested to present a statement from a doctor or hospital corroborating the declared disability.

Museums’, from there to St. Peter’s and finally, from St. Peter’s back to your place of staying. Consequently, the Vatican tour’s time ends up being four hours, 5 + if you include transfers’ time.

Private tour highly recommended! We had 7 people including 2 kids who needed someone who could engage them, and 2 seniors who needed lots of rests and help with stairs. Eugneia did all of that and more. I really think that a private tour was the best way to see the Museums- she guided us through at the right pace and had interesting things to talk about the whole way. Even the kids stayed interested. It goes without saying that the Sistene Chapel was a wonder, but "Museums" doesn't really explain what this tour is all about...I've never been in a "museum" as amazing as this one, with another surprising marvel around every corner. We had an awesome time and would recommend this private tour to anyone.

Wow! Laura was amazing. We booked a Vatican tour with this very knowledgeable and wonderfully friendly tour guide. I can’t imagine how much we would have missed had we tried to do this on our own. Her knowledge was incredible about the history of not only the Vatican but the popes and history surrounding the Catholic Church. She gave us an experience that we will never forget!!!!!!!!

We had a single day to try to see Rome and the Vatican and wondered how we'd be able to see it all. We were there with a teenager, another young boy, and my 76 year old mother in law. we met with our private guide set up by "My Best Tour" specifically to take us on a tour of the Vatican. Isabella . She was such a wealth of information and because everyone around the Vatican seemed to already know her, we were able to get into a few places very few tourists regularly go. We learned so much about the things in the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica from her. We are so grateful!
